SECTION 3: DESCRIPTION AND STATION BLOCK DIAGRAM
3
   DESCRIPTION AND STATION BLOCK DIAGRAM
Description of Modules
Each of the major elements of a typical Nucleus Advanced Control Paging Station is illustrated in block diagram form and described in this section. Paging data flow is from left to right along the top of each block diagram.

Receiver Module (Receiver Board and Control/Receiver Interface Board)

The optional Receiver Module consists of the Receiver Board (located behind the Receiver front panel on the right side of the Nucleus Advanced Control Paging Station), and the Control/Receiver Interface Board, which is a daughter board mounted on the Nucleus Advanced Control Board (behind the Control front panel).

The Receiver Board accepts rf input from a receive antenna and performs bandpass filtering and dual down conversion on the signal. The custom receiver IC then converts the signal from analog to digital and outputs a differential data signal which is sent to the Control/Receiver Interface Board.

The Control/Receiver Interface Board takes the differential data signal and processes it into audio output, which is then sent to the Wireline Interface Board. Using the Nucleus Advanced Control front panel, you can configure the Receiver Module as either a link receiver or a monitor receiver.

Receiver Modules are available as follows:

Mid-Band:
72-76 MHz
VHF:
132-154 MHz
150-174 MHz
UHF:
403-433 MHz
438-470 MHz
470-494 MHz
494-520 MHz
900 MHz:
922-941 MHz
941-960 MHz
